Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien

flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, acordeon/bandoneon & percussion

Composed in Buenos Aires, the music by Gustavo Mozzi gives proof of the manifold traces of the musical traditions which have drifted ashore the Rio de la Plata in the course of the centuries.

Tango, Milonga, Murga, Creole and European Music – Mozzi's music follows all these influences and thereby reflects the musical variety of a life which unites local colour and cosmopolitan spirit. Like in a busy harbour, in Mozzi's music musical styles of various origins meet and – like scenes in a movie – portray the southern landscape of a sleepless Buenos Aires.

After all, the Pierrot Lunaire Ensemble Wien with its roots in Argentina, Bulgaria, Austria, Rumania and Serbia seems predestined to trace the geographic riches of this music.
